The Saskatoon Early Childhood Education Demonstration Centre
The Saskatoon Early Childhood Education Demonstration Centre is located in the north end of Mount Royal Collegiate. This area was renovated in 2009 to accommodate the Saskatoon Trades and Skills Center and Saskatchewan Polytechnic programs. The north end of Mount Royal Collegiate is known as the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Avenue W Campus. Sask Poly operates several courses from the building including the Early Childhood Education Certificate and Diploma Programs. The child care centre was constructed with observation booths to support the education of the ECE students. Royal West Early Learning Centre
The Royal West Early Learning Centre is located in Royal West Campus. The centre is located at the north end of the school. The main centre is comprised of two classroom areas that house the office, the kitchen, the 10 space toddler area and the 18 space preschool area. The 6 space infant room is located across the hall from the main centre. A large natural playground is located off the main centre area. Six early childhood educators provide care and education for the children. Children who require additional supports related to development or behaviour are assisted by an Inclusion Coordinator. Our excellent cook provides two snacks and lunch each day. We place a strong emphasis on healthy foods so all foods are made from scratch. The cook also has individual servings of food available for parents to heat up for lunch. Coffee, hot chocolate, snacks and a large bowl of fruit are available for parents as they head off to school or work.
